The Benue State House of Assembly has impeached Terkimbi Ikyange as its speaker. Ikyange who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was impeached after a motion of no confidence was moved by Honourable Richard Ujege, who represents Konshisha state constituency. The move was backed by 21 members out of the 30-man Assembly. The impeachment took place in the absence of the speaker but the Clarke of the House was present at the plenary. Meanwhile, shortly after, the assembly elected Titus Uba, the lawmaker representing Kyan state constituency as its new Speaker. Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose says he is not afraid of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and that he will not run away from the country after the expiration of his tenure. “He is not afraid of anything. What are they going to do to him. Is EFCC the court of law?” Fayose’s spokesman asked. EKITI STATE - Security operatives have dispersed supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the venue of the party’s rally ahead of the governorship election in the state. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has claimed that the killings across the country was an indication of an impending catastrophic end to Nigeria.
