CONFESSING RIGHT

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.

The concept of faith confession is one that has been discussed for decades and yet, many people struggle in handling their confessions. The devil has no problem with us making confessions; he only does when those confessions are made out of a firm persuasion.

The efficacy of our confessions is dependent on the connection between our hearts and our mouths. What our mouths confess must be based on what our hearts have believed or are firmly persuaded about. Our salvation, for instance, began with us believing that Jesus is the Son of God and that He came in the flesh, died and rose again for our sakes. It was only after believing this that we could confess with our mouths unto salvation.

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans‬ ‭10:10‬).‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

We also see an expression of the same pattern in our main scriptural text. They believed first before they spoke! Our persuasion about the word of God must be formed and set in our hearts first. For our confessions to be effective, they must be powered by our faith - a firm persuasion about a word we have believed!

Beloved, I pray that the word of God will be mixed with faith in your heart this year and be expressed through confident confessions of your mouth, to bring all your dreams to reality.

Benue Assembly Impeaches Speaker, Terkimbi Ikyange

The Benue State House of Assembly has impeached Terkimbi Ikyange as its speaker. Ikyange who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was impeached after a motion of no confidence was moved by Honourable Richard Ujege, who represents Konshisha state constituency. The move was backed by 21 members out of the 30-man Assembly. The impeachment took place in the absence of the speaker but the Clarke of the House was present at the plenary. Meanwhile, shortly after, the assembly elected Titus Uba, the lawmaker representing Kyan state constituency as its new Speaker. New Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly A new Deputy Speaker, Egli Johnson Ahubi, who represents Otukpo/Akpa state constituency was also elected.

We won’t donate land for ranching – Southeast tells Buhari

South-East Governors, Sunday, said the zone would not donate any land for ranching being proposed by the Federal Government. Herdsmen planning to attack 5 Enugu communities – Ohanaeze Leaders of apex Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Enugu State Chapter yesterday informed security agencies of a purported plan by suspected Fulani herdsmen to attack five communities in state. Ohanaeze stated that the attack, which the leadership of Miyetti Allah is spearheading, is tied to the unsubstantiated theft of cows and the death of some herders in the state. In a statement by the President of Ohanaeze in the state, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, the body urged the Federal Government to wade into the matter and avert a pending onslaught.
